Health Care
Heim Foundation is committed to improving the health and nutrition of underprivileged children. In collaboration with the government health department, we regularly organize free medical camps in slums, providing necessary medications, supplements, and, if necessary, referring patients to higher-level healthcare facilities for further treatment.
Dr. Anurag, co-founder and director of the foundation, is an orthopedic surgeon who dedicates his vacation time in India to treating and performing surgeries on underprivileged children in rural hospitals, without any charges.
Nutrition
Proper nutrition plays a vital role in safeguarding children from malnourishment, bolstering their immune system, preventing malnutrition, and lowering the chances of chronic illnesses. At Gyan Gurukulam, we prioritize not only education but also the dissemination of knowledge regarding health, hygiene, and nutrition. After each class, students are given a fresh seasonal fruit, and every six months, they receive safety and first aid kits. Additionally, children are regularly educated and trained on how to respond during emergency situations, such as contacting the police or calling for an ambulance.
Rehabilitation Center for autistic children
In 2023, the Heim Foundation established the Magic Touch Child Development Center, a neurorehabilitation center in Kanpur,Uttar Pradesh. This center, under the guidance of Dr. Suchi Awasthi, focuses on providing speech therapy, applied behavioral therapy, and vocational therapy for children with autism.
Education
The Foundation runs an afternoon school called ’Gyan Gurukulam’ in the middle of a slum in Lucknow. The school aims to provide education to underprivileged children that is suitable for their age and enables them to succeed in the core curriculum. The Heim Foundation strongly believes that students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds are just as capable as their privileged peers. To further support their education, the Foundation invites national and international personalities to teach and motivate the children, as well as provide exposure to different fields. Additionally, the Foundation fully supports the education and schooling of three girl children. To broaden the children’s perspective, the Foundation frequently takes them to exhibitions, competitive programs, science centers, planetariums, and film festivals dedicated to children. Through these experiences, the children can see the world through others, eyes and gain a deeper understanding of science and technology.
Art and drawing tutorials
Art and drawing tutorials offer a valuable opportunity for children to enhance their problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, which can be beneficial in various aspects of their lives. Additionally, engaging with art helps children develop their visual learning skills. The ability to interpret, analyze, and evaluate what they observe can be transferred to other areas of their lives. At Heim Foundation, we provide art and drawing classes specifically designed for children who have a natural inclination towards these creative pursuits.
Music and dance tutorials
Engaging in music or dance provides children with opportunities to enhance their motor skills, communication, expression, creativity, imagination, social-emotional skills, and much more. The Heim Foundation actively supports the development of singing and dance abilities in children, offering them a platform to showcase their talents.
